Ascent to Qoyllur Rit’i: Pilgrimage to the Heart of the Star and the Mountain
Ascent to Qoyllur Rit’i is not only a physical journey, but also a journey of the soul. Each step toward the sacred sanctuary of Apu Sinakara is an offering of faith and perseverance. Pilgrims ascend in silence, accompanied by the song of the wind and the light of the moon, carrying flowers, crosses, and coca leaves in their hands to give thanks to Pachamama and the stars.
During the night, the sky fills with dances, prayers, and songs. The cold is not felt as a punishment, but as a purification. At dawn, when the first rays of sunlight touch the snow, hearts soar before the radiance of Qoyllur Rit’i, the “Snow Star” that unites heaven and earth.
Ascent to Qoyllur Rit’i is to remember that we are stardust and mountain seeds; It is returning to the origin, where the spirit meets the light.
